VOX FM 106.9 - The Voice of The Illawarra - is a community radio station operated by Illawarra Community FM Broadcasters Ltd (a not-for-profit public company limited by guarantee). Unlike a commercial radio station, all income generated is channeled back into maintenance and improvement of the station and building its community focus.

Through its numerous special interest programs which together cover a wide variety of musical genres and topical matters, VOX caters to non-English speaking groups, youth and seniors. With a broadcast area from Helensburgh in the north to Gerringong in the south, all programs are produced and presented by volunteers from the Illawarra community. VOX is funded by airtime fees, grants, donations, fundraising activities, member subscriptions and sponsorship announcements.

As a service to residents of the Illawarra, VOX broadcasts all community announcements free of charge, subject to the availability of suitable airtime. Community announcements must reach us at least ten days before the scheduled event and are accepted by fax, email, post or in person.
