CRAIG AND PETER - SATURDAYS 6-8PM
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, Craig & Peter each stumbled their way to Wollongong’s community radio station, Vox FM within a few weeks of each other. They joined the ensemble that was Doing It Locally - a local music program hosted by Rob, Tony, Tony, Tony .... and Anthony. One by one each of them left the show. Perhaps that says something about Craig & Peter. Whilst the show’s most notable alumni are The Zinger Machine’s Shane Matheson & former Power FM presenter Bruce Cassidy, Craig & Peter continue to be the constant by which other’s measure the changes in their life. Clearly they are too old for Triple J & not bland enough for commerical radio. So if you live between Helensburgh & Gerroa (excluding parts of Dapto where the signal is a bit dodgy) take pity on the boys & tune in every Saturday from 6-8pm. And if you can’t pick them up, check out the Doing It Locally podcasts on iTunes, Cpod, iLike & MySpace.
FOLLOW ON AIR PLAYOUT
ON AIR PLAYOUT - WOLLONGONG YOUTH - MON 8-9PM
On Air PlayOut focuses on letting young people know about bands and concerts in the Wollongong area as well as getting local band members to come on the show and talk about their band and features songs by up-and-coming bands. With strong links to the Wollongong Youth Centre the program is aimed at raising the profile of bands in the region who may not otherwise gain publicity, as well as promoting concerts in the Wollongong area.
While the show is primarily about giving exposure and attention to local acts, another key aim of On Air PlayOut is to support the youth of Wollongong. With most – if not all – contemporary radio programs being written and presented by older people, On Air PlayOut is the voice of youth across our airwaves. On Air PlayOut is also about giving a voice to youth, and presenting concerns or problems facing youth, as well as about promoting local youth music. The program is aimed at young people and the subject matter is diverse so to appeal to all different aspects of youth and that is also an important aim of the show.
On Air Playout is an ongoing program on community radio station 106.9 VOX FM run by the On air PlayOut crea, featuring Jake Latham and Aaren Cristini.
The show is just two guys talking about whatever they want.
Despite having conflicting musical tastes, they alternate songs providing an unprecedented and uncompromised combination of underground/independent (and unreleased mainstream) hip hop, indie rock, and by extension rap-rock.
They are open to all requests, music submissions (to be played on the show) and feedback.
For more information contact Jake Latham or Aaren Cristini. They are featured on the program once a month on a Monday from 8-9pm. You can check the page for exact dates and updates.
