Presenters Highlight of the Month
Congratulations Jacob!
Meet beloved presenter Jacob Henson. Jacob is not just a presenter, he is a legend. Jacob has been with VOX FM for 20 amazing years, and he has entertained and inspired countless listeners with his music and his personality. Jacob started his journey with us in May 2003 with his Friday morning show “Moving Up To Midday”. He quickly became a favourite among our audience, and he was given the opportunity to host the afternoon Drive show, where he still rocks the airwaves with his ‘Joyride Jamboree with Jacob’ every Thursday.
Jacob is a music aficionado and a trivia master. He knows everything there is to know about songs and artists, and he loves to share his knowledge and passion with you. He has been fascinated by radio since he was a kid, when he invented his own pretend radio station and recorded hilarious shows with his friends and family. He even once accidentally said the name of his pretend station on air when he joined Vox FM, how dedicated he is to his craft!
Jacob also has a background as a DJ for school dances in the 1990s, and as a work experience student at POWER FM in Nowra in 1998. His favourite music decade is the 1980s (and early 1990s), and he enjoys classic pop and classic rock genres. Some of his personal favourites are Roxette, Icehouse, R.E.M., Tears For Fears, Duran Duran, Mi-Sex, INXS, David Bowie, Mondo Rock, 1927, The Cars, The Corrs, Nik Kershaw, Huey Lewis, Spandau Ballet, Mental As Anything, Pseudo Echo and Bryan Adams (and many more).
Join Jacob’s ‘Joyride Jamboree with Jacob’ every Thursday from 3-5pm, where he plays music from the 60s to the early 2000s and tells you stories and anecdotes that will make you laugh and smile. We love you Jacob!
